Since 2013, Mrs. Torres has been a Licensed Therapist, and since 2018 she has passionately educated and provided resources on human trafficking within her community and surrounding areas.
In 2019, Mrs. Torres became an Ambassador of Shared Hope International, completing intensive training to facilitate workshops on child sex trafficking. Her expertise has led her to host workshops at notable institutions, including Fayetteville State University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
In 2020, she founded Doing it for the Kingdom Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating communities about various forms of trafficking and supporting victims and survivors with essential resources like clothing and hygiene items. As President until 2022, Mrs. Torres collaborated with the Cumberland County Police Department to provide critical support.
Mrs. Torres continues to be a leading voice in the fight against human trafficking, speaking in various settings, including N.O.V.A.’s Human Trafficking Response Academy. This course offers valuable training for victim advocates and allied professionals working with survivors.
Committed to staying at the forefront of human trafficking trends and updates, Mrs. Torres has consistently pursued research and attended training sessions since 2018. Her dedication has led her to deliver impactful workshops both in person and virtually, reaching a wide audience and effecting positive change.
Mrs. Torres is also available for subcontracting with larger organizations such as schools, universities, police departments, and other entities in need of her services through her small business, EmPowered2Shift. EmPowered2Shift is HUB Certified in North Carolina and recognized as a certified Woman-Owned Small Business.
